The Surfside Beach project

Waterbridge Contractors of the Carolinas built this oceanfront walkway for a beach house in Surfside Beach, SC.

The project brings together timber decking, railings and stairs along the connection between the house and the sand. The dune crossover carries the walkway through the beachfront setting, with steps at the changes in level.

The photos show both directions of travel: toward the ocean and back toward the house. They also show the stair connections and railing details, so you can see how the different parts of the walkway meet.

For a beach-house owner planning a similar connection, the whole route matters. Where does the path begin? How does it meet the outdoor living area? Where will people step onto the beach? This project offers a real example to discuss as you consider your own property.
