The project
Shoreline work and river access, planned together.
This residential waterfront project brought a bulkhead, covered pierhead, and floating dock to a home on the Waccamaw River. The property is near Wacca Wache Marina in Murrells Inlet.
Each part serves a different purpose. The bulkhead forms the shoreline edge. The covered pierhead creates a sheltered place above the water. The floating dock provides another space at water level. Considering those parts together helps connect the way a property looks with the way its owners use the river.
The photograph follows the timber walkway into the covered pierhead. Railings line the approach, and the green metal roof covers the gathering area. The full project also included the bulkhead and floating dock beyond this close view.
