The project

Build the space.
Connect the access.

Before the Lily Pad attraction could open at Broadway at the Beach, its owners needed new construction over the water. The work had to accommodate attraction equipment and guest traffic.

Waterbridge Contractors of the Carolinas built new decks, deck railings, piers, and pier walkways. Bridges and pilings were also part of the project. Together, these elements connected the attraction area to the surrounding waterfront.

The project brought several kinds of construction into one setting: a deck for the activity area, railings around its edges, and access across the water. The photograph shows how those parts meet.

A closer look

Follow the deck from the water’s edge.

In the project photo, timber pilings support the deck above the water. Railings follow the perimeter, while walkways connect from either side. The attraction equipment rises above the deck.
